Good morning Mike,
As I haven’t been to Chain Reaction in a while … the changes look GREAT! What if all employees wore a Chain Reaction shirt or t-shirt to i.d. themselves to all your new and continueing customers.
Tom: Your wish is granted! As of a week ago, we all have black shirts or t-shirts with our name & logo, and individual name badges (magnetically attached… how cool is that? I had no idea such things existed). First name & last initial. Now, if only our customers had name tags to, because I am *so* bad at remembering names. Thanks- –Mike–
As long as customers pay by credit card, and my point-of-sale system allows me to enter customer information at that point during the sale, I’m fine. Otherwise, I’m best off just admitting that I’m one of those people who just can’t for their life remember names. They just recede into some dark place in my mind that I can’t pull them out of. They’re in there, somewhere, but I don’t have what it takes to retrieve them. It’s very frustrating, but it’s always been that way for me, it’s not something getting worse as I get older. Getting older just gives me a convenient excuse. 🙂

Hey Mike, I have a friend who was in retail for years. He used to use this “trick” on his customers all the time.
“What was your name again?”
“John”
“I know your first name John, I meant what is your last name?”
🙂
